MMR LIVE is open to everyone.

Whether you're a long-standing My Mind Rocks member or you've only just discovered us, we'd love to welcome you.

Over the past three years, My Mind Rocks has quietly grown into one of the world's leading online communities dedicated exclusively to the art of mentalism. Every week, performers from around the globe come together to share ideas, refine routines, discuss performances, challenge one another's thinking and, perhaps most importantly, continue learning.

On Wednesday 16th September, for the very first time, that online community comes together in person.

Welcome to MMR LIVE.

This isn't another magic convention.

MMR LIVE is a carefully curated one-day event built around thoughtful mentalism, genuine conversation and the sharing of ideas.

Rather than rushing from lecture to lecture, we've created an intimate event that gives you time to learn, network, jam, explore new ideas and actually spend time with the people in the room.

Throughout the day you'll experience five exclusive sessions, each created specifically for MMR LIVE and focusing on different areas of mentalism, creativity and performance.

And we can now reveal four of them...

SCOTT CREASEY

One of the most respected and distinctive thinkers in modern mentalism, Scott Creasey joins us for a special MMR LIVE session.

Scott's work has influenced performers around the world, combining wonderfully deceptive methods with an approach to mentalism that places the audience and their experience firmly at its centre.

PAUL BROOK

Author, performer and creator Paul Brook joins the MMR LIVE line-up for another session created especially for the day.

Paul's work exploring mentalism, psychology, performance and audience experience has made him an influential voice within our art, and we're delighted to have him joining us in Sheffield.

PHILL SMITH

Designer, creator and one of mentalism's great behind-the-scenes thinkers, Phill Smith will be bringing his unique perspective to MMR LIVE.

Phill has spent years creating ingenious systems, marked decks and methods used by performers around the world. His extraordinary knowledge of magic and mentalism, combined with a relentlessly creative mind, makes this a session we're particularly excited about.

NIK PLEDGER & ROSS BARTELS

This session represents something particularly special about MMR LIVE.

Long-standing MMR members Nik Pledger & Ross Bartels will present a special 45-minute session exploring creative collaboration and what can happen when performers regularly come together to share, develop and challenge ideas.

Both are regulars at our weekly Tuesday Jam Sessions, where ideas have been shared between members, developed, tested, refined and transformed into finished routines.

That ongoing collaboration has now resulted in something tangible - a book documenting the journey and packed with routines and effects born from those connections.

At MMR LIVE, Nik and Ross will take us behind the scenes of that process and explore the real creative value of jamming and collaboration.

More than the sessions

MMR LIVE has deliberately been designed to give you room to breathe.

Between sessions there'll be dedicated time to meet fellow attendees, continue conversations over coffee, jam with other performers and browse a carefully hand-picked selection of specialist mentalism dealers.

Every dealer has been personally invited because of the quality of their products, their contribution to our art and the respect they've earned within the mentalism community.

Because some of the best ideas in mentalism don't come from sitting in a lecture.

They come from a conversation, a notebook, a deck of cards and somebody saying:

“What if we tried this…?”

Whether you're a full-time professional, a part-time performer, an enthusiastic hobbyist, a magician interested in exploring mentalism or simply someone with a genuine interest in the art, you are welcome at MMR LIVE.

Doors open from 10:30am, with complimentary tea and coffee available on arrival.

Lunch is flexible, with Heist Brew Co's BBQ Pit available throughout the day or the hugely popular Cutlery Works food hall just next door, offering a huge selection of independent food vendors.

The daytime event concludes during the afternoon, giving everyone time to relax before our separate public evening show, MENTAL! (tickets for the evening show can be found here)

Once your booking is complete, you'll receive confirmation that your attendance has been authorised. In the run-up to the event we'll send you additional operational briefings, venue information and everything you need to make the most of the day.
