Inside MMR - November 2025: Hector Chadwick, Joe Skilton, and a New Era of Shared Learning

November was a powerful month inside My Mind Rocks, filled with creativity, collaboration, and some truly inspiring moments. For those looking to learn mentalism online or join a serious online mentalism community, November demonstrated exactly why MMR continues to grow in both quality and reputation.

It was a month where ideas deepened, new features were unveiled, and the sense of shared purpose within the community became stronger than ever.

A Landmark Session with Hector Chadwick

We were thrilled to welcome Hector Chadwick - also known as Stephen Long – for a rare and much-anticipated live appearance. Hector is a master of structure, clarity, and intelligent design, and his session went far beyond the usual conversations found in mentalism circles.

He spoke about his background and the path that led him into magic and mentalism, sharing early influences and the turning points that shaped his creative direction. He also discussed how he first crossed paths with Derren Brown, a meeting that grew into a long-standing friendship and eventually led to Stephen becoming a writer on many of Derren’s live shows and television projects.

From there, the conversation moved into his approach to creating mentalism – what he looks for when developing a routine, the ideas that spark his curiosity, and the qualities that make a piece worth pursuing. We also talked with him about his highly regarded book and several specific routines within it, which he discussed with great openness and generosity.

It was a warm, insightful, and memorable session that gave members a rare look into the thinking of one of the most respected creative minds in the field.

It was, without question, one of the standout sessions of the year.

Members Spotlight: Joe Skilton

November also brought our second Members Spotlight, where we highlight an outstanding performer from within the MMR community itself. This month the spotlight shone on Joe Skilton, a professional LA-based mentalist whose reputation in the corporate and private event world speaks for itself.

Joe shared two of his signature pieces - The Colorado Kicker and Mind Power Poker. Without giving anything away publicly, the response from members made it clear why Joe is held in such high regard. His material is smart, streamlined, and designed for maximum impact under real-world conditions.

The Spotlight offered a rare opportunity to see how a professional structures his thinking, and Joe’s generosity and insight made it one of the most talked-about parts of the month.

The Introduction of MMR Watch Parties

During our main monthly group session, we formally introduced a new feature that will become a central part of MMR’s learning experience: MMR Watch Parties.

To illustrate the concept, we premiered a very special film created by our friend and member Meraux Dantes. His documentary-style video captured 24 hours in his life performing at Walt Disney World, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the rhythm, preparation, and energy that goes into a full day of professional mentalism.

Members watched together as a community, then stayed to discuss the themes, challenges, and creative insights it revealed. It was a perfect demonstration of how shared viewing can deepen understanding.

Going forward, Watch Parties will become dedicated sessions where we study classic mentalism performances that align with each month’s learning focus. For example, if a future theme is muscle reading, we’ll watch landmark muscle reading performances together to round out the training and give members historical and artistic context.

November marked the beginning of a new era of connected learning inside MMR, and the excitement was immediate.

Weekly Jams and Shared Growth

Our Tuesday Jam Sessions continued to bring the community together week after week. November’s discussions naturally intertwined Hector’s structural insights, Joe’s professional approach, and the themes raised during the Watch Party introduction.

The jams explored clarity, pacing, audience management, and the small artistic decisions that create the feeling of genuine impossibility. It’s in these sessions that you can truly see the value of learning mentalism online within a community: everyone brings something different, and everyone learns from those around them.

A Month That Strengthened Our Identity

Looking back, November encapsulated everything MMR strives to be: inspiring, thoughtful, progressive, and community-driven. It showcased world-class teaching, peer-to-peer learning, shared experiences, and an expanding set of tools designed to support members at every stage of their journey.

The sense of connection across the community was unmistakable. It felt like a month where everything clicked into place.
